56"X56"
This one I made two years ago. It had been in the gallery and now is folded up in a box in the studio. I enjoyed all the color and stitching on this one. It was fun to make. There is a Sun Spots I also, I'll show that another day. It was a smaller experimental precursor to this one.
Notice the skull fabrics in black and white.
Listening to Greg Brown today, his song "Cold Dark Wet" describes today perfectly.
Be well.

This is such a happy piece you need it on display on dull dark days. I don't want to make you feel worse but it has been beautiful here today, warm sunshine all day - about time too.
this is just a lot of fun to look at. i can't imagine how much time it must have taken to make. well worth it though, because it's really beautiful! you really shouldn't have it put away. it's too happy a piece of work to be shut up somewhere.
Such beautiful colors...So happy!!
Love,
Marilyn
Thanks. It is a happy quilt but rather large. I'm out of wall space! I had it hanging on the wall outside of the studio last summer for awhile and I liked it there. let me see if I can find that photo, I'll put it up too.
I love this quilt.....I loved the whole series of making blocks, cutting them apart and them reassembling different pieces.
I enjoyed the circle series I did.....I wonder if I still have all those? Hmmmmm......now you've made me think! Did you hear the CREAKING??? LOL!!
XXOO!!

Gorgeous and so full of color.
Jan,
This is S T U N N I N G !!! This can't be left in a box, no way!!You must put it out somewhere so you can see the "happiness" of it everyday!!
I am amazed at the realm of your talent. You can do just about anything when it comes to fabric, cloth and beads. And you must have secret talents we have yet to see.
Love it, Jan.

That was supposed to say fabric, thread and beads, but I'm sure you knew what I meant.

Thanks for your kind comments. This really wasn't hard to make, just time consuming. Most of my quilts are raw edges so that makes it easy. Tess, you probably can sew, you just haven't gotten there yet. I had it for sale in an art gallery for several months so Yes, I would sell it but No, It didn't sell.
What a beautiful quilt Jan. WOW!!!
I love the black and white fabrics in there and the skulls.
I love skulls.
Love and hugs.
I LOVE you quilt Jan. This is a wonderful piece. I am all about color these days. You mentioned how my eye surgeries went. Well it is a long story but I developed in my mid 40's a rare inherited eye disease of the corneas. I had my first transplant in 2003 and the second one in 2007 plus two cataract surgeries. I am what they call legally blind...it sucks, but I carry on everyday. There are things I can no longer do and I use a magnifying glass for many things I make...plus a sewing machine that can thread itself is a life saver...for me anyway. You are an inspiration to me and love your work very much!!
Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
Hugs and Laughter,
Susan
Beautiful quilt love those bright colours. I always am attracted to circle quilts love them. OMG it is snowing here and my Magnolia bush is just wondering what the heck is going on LOL
Hi Jan, yesterday I took a book about quilts in my hand, it's very long since I made one the only one..., but just having a look on them also nice.
