making Felt while the rain falls

Yesterday I did some wet felting. I don't exactly know what I am doing but it doesn't matter. I'm learning as I go. I intend to do stitching and beading over these pieces. I laid pieces of colored roving over a piece of half felted wool batting, then wet felted each piece.
I think they are promising. It will be interesting to see what develops with them. I know they will be a lot different once I get to fooling around with them.
In the meantime I am working on a different piece. I'll show that one later.

Listening to A Prairie Home Companion as I have nearly every Saturday for the past 30 years.

Where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the dogs are above average.

They are lovely pieces to be able to work into. It is always good to have something ready to go for when the Muse strikes.
What is A Prairie home Companion?

Interesting pieces Jan. I have bought some silk and I am going to try my hand at what I think is called wet felting the roving into the silk to make a scarf.

What channel is Prairie Home Companion on? Or do you own it? I didn't know it was still around.

You've wet felted such pretty colors into these pieces, Jan. No doubt, once you do your magical stitching and beading on them, they will end up being beautiful works of art!

Maggi, A Prairie Home Companion is a old fashioned radio program hosted by Garrison Keillor. They have musical guests, silly skits and every week Garrison gives his little humorous thoughtful News From Lake Woebegon, tales of an imaginary town in Minnesota state. Broadcast every Saturday afternoon.

Marlene, I hope you will post your results on your blog of your silk and roving piece.

Prairie Home companion is on 91.5 KOPB. It rebroadcasts Sundays at noon so you could catch it today if you want.

Anne, hope you have a wonderful relaxing day. You need your soul recharged after all you have been through.

Audrey, thanks for your confidence in my abilities. I know I'll have fun, no matter what comes of these pieces.

Marie, Thanks for looking. I see you have been doing a lot of experimenting in your studio lately. What a plethora of work you are producing! Great pieces.

Emmy, watch this space;-) I will surely post progress on these as I make it. Thanks for stopping by.

Love the middle one, reminds me of tie dying, the bottom one looks like it could be an under water scene, they are all beautiful.

I haven't listened to Garrison Keillor in years, remember when he moved to New York City and they hated him? So he moved back to Minnesota.

You mentioned on my blog that you missed having 2 dogs, I am sorry for your loss, they leave behind huge holes in one's heart.

Can't wait to see what you do with these, Jan. They are all beautiful without even any added detail, but your detail is what makes them extraordinary. You are so gifted! "Dogs above average!" That made me GUFFAW! :~D

I haven't listened to PHC in a long time. It is fun, isn't it? And your new pieces are beautiful. I love the top one, it reminds me of a sunset and tree branches. :) Happy week! xox Pam

I have never seen that many hummingbirds at a feeder like that being nice to each other, that is amazing.

LOL, Jan I can not decide which is worse, answering comments or being so overwhelmed I can not answer them?
I have been failing terribly at the answering part.
When I am on a roll, nothing stops me and I work right in front of my computer, so I do both, lol and sometimes I read but don't answer. I am not always so productive, so I go crazy when I feel it in my bones, but I can be quite testy if someone gets in my way!! LOL!!
