I was thinking about how most of us are in the middle of winter. Remember summer? That warm, flower scented time? Here is a little video clip I made last summer. I thought this might be a nice time to share it, to remind you of what will be coming in a few months. Warmth, flowers, birds. Hope you can hear the Swainson's Thrushes singing in the dusk, one of my most favorite summer sounds. Also starring Charlie, the tuxedo cat. Enjoy!

Look at your lovely yard! So green and pretty! (Yeah. I know. Last summer. Still!) Thanks for sharing a summer glimpse. And yup! I heard the birds. God how I love to hear the birds sing. Something I have been missing lately. What a treat this was.
Oh that was like a breath of desperately needed fresh air! The birds, the flowers, the kitty......and all that lush GREEN!
I want to jump straight into the video.
NOW.
Beautiful Jan, thanks for putting it up for us all.

Jan! Was that your yard? Or was that heaven?!?!? Looked like heaven to me!! Thank you!!
I always love coming to your blog--you have such wonderful sound effects!! Gorgeous flowers--and to hear the birds singing! Just what I needed today after cloudy, cold rain!!
Oh what a lovely warm respite in the midst of the brrrrrrrrrrrrr. Thanks, Oma LInda
Loved the video, and the dog gets a star, too:-) Thanks, Jan.
I enjoyed this forst time round Jan and it is even better now that I am sitting looking out at a white wonderland.
I got lost in the clip enjoying the sights and sounds and hated to come back. Your yard is wonderful. Thanks for the break from winter.
How lovely and green your yard is! Your pets seem to enjoy it too. I love that bird song...I don't think we get any kind of thrush birds here in Kansas...but I have hear their song on recordings and perhaps on vacations but I don't remember where. I love that song...sooooo peaceful. You must be quite the green thumb too!
They are amazing birds, love to hear them sing, even though you almost never see them. Loving seeing the garden and the blooms. xox Corrine
Thanks, I did enjoy!
That was just lovely, your thrush sound so different to ours. A wonderful change from the cold or rain we've been having ;)
That was so great!!! Quite a refresher for those who have snow and rain. How nice of you to post!
Beautiful! I feel like going outside and starting a garden right now. I will have to wait a few weeks. :) We've had a pretty mild winter, so I can't really complain (but I still do - haha!) xox
Ahhh...delightful sights and sounds! Roll on Spring..... :-)
Jan,
What a wonderful treat for winter eyes!

A bit green with envy....

Ahhhhhhhh, my favorite sound ever - the Thrush's song makes me swooooon!
I'm gonna save this and listen to it forever!
So enjoyed your trip around your yard to give us hope that spring/summer is on it's way. Thanks, Jan!
