When the friends in my creativity group noticed my work improving they began to ask me if I could show them how to paint the backgrounds. We did a little workshop this week and here are some of their results.
Pinky included some stamping with her work. I love that stamp and borrowed it, made several copies on other papers to use later.
Karen included some cut outs over her painted page. This page shows the technique of painting designs first with some gesso, then painting over it and wiping off.
April prefers less abstraction. She had some gellato colors that she was trying out for the first time. She liked them a lot. They are water soluble too.
April is taking a lettering class from Joanne Sharpe and gave us all cards and she hand lettered the envelopes.

Loooooove this whole post Jan! All the pages are so great! And the eggs.....gorgeous!! This was the first year in several decades that I didn't color eggs and I really missed it.
What type of journal do you work in? I'm always looking for one that has pages suitable for all types of media....something that can get kinda wet. I'd love suggestions!!

Jan, I'm so taken by your journal pages. They are wonderful. So glad you got me interested in Joanne Sharpe's Artful Alphabet online class. I am LOVING it!! And meeting so many new people, too! So fun! Can't wait to start in on my own journal! It's gonna be fun!
I am so far behind in my blogging I almost missed this fantastic post. You ladies are amazing! It seems that no matter what you set yourselves to doing you do it in a grand way. I love the journal pages and the bowl of colored eggs is beautiful. My poor eggs were nothing compared to the ones in the photo. Keep having fun with your journals.
Jan, your pages are getting soooo interesting. I really like 'em. You are really developing a neat syle with your paper work. I love coming here and checking out what you are up to at home :>)) Hugs...
