Rats. Ran out before I was finished. I thought I had more of that varied blue print in my fabric stash but nope. It is gone, and I still have 6 inches left to crochet. So I searched for something close.
What do you think? It will have to do. There is enough of this other fabric to go around the rug a few more rounds. It's only a rug after all, not great art. I'm just trying to use up some of my rayon fabric stash left over from my garment making days. I've got a ways to go yet.
Be well.

Bummer! Jan, it is looking great! Mine's in slo mo...:>))
You might not call it art, but I'd feel guilty wiping my feet on this thing of beauty.
it's looking great! i agree with glenn...i'd hate to stand on it and get it dirty!
Dang I hate when that happens. This is a beautiful rug. My grandmother made "rag rugs" you couldn't go into any of my aunts houses without seeing one of these rugs. I love them.
you done good. using what you have lets the element of surprise in. the muse loves that. i like the larger print for my senior eyes!!!
Great way to use up fabric! I was thinking I'd like to crochet a rug one of these days too. I do have the fabric for it...
Lookin good to me, I am sure it will be covered with muddy paw prints before long and the who will know. That's how it works in my house!!! Ha Ha. Can you teach me to crochet? I would love to crochet my own dog beds for Ella to chew up! You get the picture. xox Corrine
You've got me thinking. I have a ton of rayon skirts that I have been keeping because I love the material. This might be just the project for them.
I think that looks like a good match. And that rug is really pretty! xo
Looks good to me. I still haven't gotten around to starting a rug but now I'm thinking I should start cutting strips and work on one over the long winter months.
Go for it. My grandmother used to do these rugs and I remember the thing I loved most were the subtle transitions from one fabric to another.
I had no idea she was using scraps up---I just thought it was to *make it pretty*!
It will be fine Jan~~you'll be happy!
XXOO~~

The rug is lovely and the fabric you have to use is going to be wonderful. How fun. I haven't done one of these in years...hmmmmmm maybe GK should learn how. Yet another forced fun event coming on, I think. Linda
Perhaps I didn't understand it all, but the substitute fabric will work well. Was great fun making it I assume.
Must be the time of year...my friend is also making a rug from fabric but she's braiding hers. Nice piece! Colors are great, actually!
Great colours. Will remind you of the warm summer weather on cold dark days.
Looks pretty cool to me...haven't seen a rug like that in so long..warms my heart.
Just enjoy this beautiful rug!!! Life is too short! Peace, Mary Helen
I love the color. Can't wait to see the finished piece.

Looks like it's going to work really well. I love the colours. I've never thought of crocheting a rug, what a great idea. What does Charlie do to them?
Just a rug? I'm w/ Glenn, I wouldn't want to step on it either. Such beautiful summer sky colors. Oh so cool that you've been creating so much.
Hi Jan,
I see you are still creating gorgeous pieces of work.
Well done, sorry for my absence, lots of stuff going on in my life.
Creative hugs,
Anna
Love this 2nd choice fabric! Looks like a 1st choice to me! :oD
Okay....so did anyone else notice that the word caterpillars had the 'pill' part of the word brown? Well, Jan had to explain it to me....there is a meaning to it! Jan, you are so clever! Waaaaay over my head, tho! Teehee!
I'm so subtle. Don't know if anyone else even noticed that little secret message, heheh.
Well it looks like great art to me! I'd love that in my bathroom... :-)
I think it goes wonderfully. Nice rug!
