Doolybobber #6

I need to just start numbering these pieces since I seem to be unable to come up with good names for them. Here is another one of these doolybobbers. I guess this would be about number 6. Must be a series!  I photographed this on top of a piece of golden batik fabric, that is not part of the piece.
This one measures only about 6"x6". I used a wool batting background and needle felted various colored rovings and strips of silk fabric and scrim before doing hand stitching and adding buttons, bottle caps, felt beads and a stamped, painted piece of paper clay. Oh, and there is a little bit of netting from a bag of avocados too, there next to the green heart. A few beads, of course.

Below you can see the bottle cap with a little paper flower on top.
I like the paper clay piece, I have made several of these and this is the first time I have used one.
l
Tomorrow is my Stitch n' Bitch day, meeting up with my BFF's.  That is always fun, we are going to make some more of the little folded books.  It has been cool here again, temperature wise.  Only got up to about 62 today.  I was painting papers to use in folded books, I finally had to iron them dry so I can take them with me tomorrow. Listening to Radiohead.

Be well.

Love the Doolybobbers Jan. They are all so different and yet seem to link well together. I love paper clay too.

What fun! I always thought the mesh avocado bags ought to wind up in a stitchery project. Nice work.

Love these Jan...and that yellow batik looks GOOD as a background for this one! (maybe the should be stitched to a batike and stretched over canvas panels???)
You have such a good eye for the abstract.
Hope you have fun at S&B today!!!

XXOO!!

This is gorgeous, and I love it against the orange of the batik. These pieces have a lovely intricacy to them. They remind me of pages from a storybook (maybe that can be a title idea!). I will trade you some HEAT from some COOL. ;) xox! Pam

Oh, Jan, I am LOVING this particular doolybobber!!! I love the colors and all the detail you've added. I MUST try one of these ~ it looks like such fun. You do them so well!!! If this was on Etsy, I would buy it for sure!!!
It is 101* right now. I would probably freeze if it got down into the 60s. Our bodies are SO used to this heat that has been here ALL summer. I DON'T like it. Go away. Move on. Adios. See ya. Goodbye.........

Jan, this is amazing. If you aren't right this minute writing an article for a fiber/mixed-media article on how you create these little jewels, we're all poorer for it! (And I actually love the orange batik behind it, it really sets off a beautiful contrast! lol)
