Awards!

A big THANK YOU goes out to Marlene of http://marlenes-musings.blogspot.com/ for awarding me with this Sunshine Award.  I am truly honored that you would think of me for this award, Marlene.  I hope any of you who have not yet visited Marlene's blog will hop on over and take a look at her charming work.  She does very cute and sometimes amusing work.  I have one of her ATC's proudly displayed in my collection.

~Here are the Sunshine Award Guidelines~
1) Please thank the person who gave the award to you.
2) Copy the award and place it in your blog.
3) Link back to the person who nominated you.
4) Name 6 things that no one would really know, about yourself.
5) Nominate your Sunshine Award bloggers and post links to their blogs.
6) Leave a comment on each of those blogs letting them know you have nominated them for the Sunshine award.

But wait!  There's more!  I also received this Kreativ Blogger award from Nicole over at http://beadwright.blogspot.com/  Again I feel honored to receive these awards.  Nicole has been doing her fabulous bead work for many years and gets better all the time.  Plus she is having a birthday giveaway this month, and special free shipping in her online shops.  Check her out!!

These are the rules to be followed for this award:
1. Thank the person who gave this to you. 2. Copy the logo and place it in your blog. 3. Link the person who nominated you. 4. Name 7 things about yourself that no one would really know.

5. Nominate seven 'Kreativ Bloggers' 6. Post links to the seven blogs you nominate 7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know you nominated them.

It seems like people who's blogs I follow have already received these awards so I may be hard pressed to find someone who has not yet received it.

1.Robbie at  http://robbiespawprints.blogspot.com/
2.Tanya at http://tttl1998.blogspot.com/
3.Mary at http://kmgaragesaleshints.blogspot.com/
4.Tam at http://artinflight.blogspot.com/
5.Susan at http://sjmcdowell.blogspot.com/
6.Marilyn at http://ourvictoriancottage.blogspot.com/
7.Emmy at http://emmyschoonbeek.blogspot.com/
8.Judi at http://approachable-art.blogspot.com/
9.Anne at http://elmilagrostudio.blogspot.com/

I could list another 9 deserving bloggers or 19 but really, everyone deserves one of these awards who blogs with any regularity.  I am going to leave it up to my nominees as to whether they want to follow all the rules, or just say "thanks for the award" and leave it at that.  And since I got two awards at once, and they are so similar, you can pick which ever award you want to display, they are both fun!  I believe the gist of these awards is just to share some love and the fun of learning about blogs you may not have visited before.  Am I right?

Next rule is that I am supposed to list some things about myself that you may not know about me.  I have been giving this some thought, so here goes:

1. I have lived in my same home for nearly 34 years, since I was 21 years young.  Just a kid, really.  I still love it here and intend to stay another 34 with any luck.

2 .I was a champion competitive body builder for about 10 years back in the 1980's.  Competed about 15 times and never placed lower than second place.  I never used any performance drugs!!  I was a total natural.

3. I love dogs.  I have always had a dog and at one time I had 8 dogs.  My favorite breed is the Bully breed, I love Pit Bulls.  Mine are nice, although I only have one at the moment.  I always say don't worry about those teeth, worry about them hurting you with those hard tails wagging against your leg!

4. I like to climb trees.

5. I have never owned a Barbie doll, never wanted one.

6. I chose to not have children.  I have pets and plants instead.

7.  Music is also a passion of mine.  I don't play any instruments any more but I love to listen to music, mainly acoustic folky singer songwriter music but I also enjoy some of the new young stuff I've been learning about lately such as BonIver, My Morning Jacket, Anais Mitchell, and some old stuff like Frank Sinatra, Louie Prima, and musicals such as the Music Man and Phantom of the Opera.

Seven things is enough.  Now you know some things about me you probably didn't know before. Thanks for  being interested enough to read this far.

Be well.

Well, a couple of these things I didn't know about you. I wasn't surprised at all that you're not into Barbie's, but the whole climbing trees, thing....well, you got me there. This isn't an April Fool's joke, is it?

Thank you for your award! I would love to see a picture of you in your body building days! Any advice for an aging body that is slowly going to flab?

Congratulations on these well deserved awards, Jan!
I never had a Barbie doll either! How exciting to have been a body builder. I worked out at Nautilus in the 80s, but I never went that far. These days, my body is wishing I had kept it up. LOL!
Such fun getting to know you!
Happy Easter!!

Hi Jan,

Thank you again for the Kreative Blogger Award!!! I posted the award on my blog and linked the picture on my side bar back to you.

Marlene, yes, body builder, I'm sure it has helped me to still be a fairly strong person although I don't do it any more. Now I lift bales of hay, bags of grain, firewood...

April, this is no joke, you know I don't joke around;-0

Marie, do you have Pit Bulls too? Those tails can really hurt!

Tanya, I will consider posting an old photo from those bygone days. Really, lifting weights is a wonderful way to keep the flab at bay, but your swimming and walking Choco are great for you too. You look great!

Tam, I'm glad you are happy about the award! Don't let those boys run you ragged. (that's what my grandma always said, that my brothers "ran me ragged")Looking forward to reading your list of things about you.

Susan, you are well deserving of an award, you have such lovely work on your blog. I will be interested to learn more about you.

QMM, thanks for stopping by. I am honored to receive these awards.

Audrey, Nautilus was a good thing because it helped get people using their bodies. It's never too late to get back into it! I say that to myself all the time.

Nicole, thanks for the award and for coming back to get to know me a bit more.

Happy Easter everybody!!

My girlfriend had a pit bull and he loved me cause of my long nails. I would walk in the door and he would smile at me and then turn his butt to me for me to scratch. My firend always said I was his best friend.
A beautiful brindle named Rocky, I miss him!
His tail was like a bull whip!
Do you still climb trees?
Happy Easter and a great weekend to you Jan!!

Hi Jan,

I have been trying to come here and comment. First of all, thank you for your visits and comments on my bog. I really enjoyed reading about the nutritional benefits of the banana.

How interesting are these facts about you! A body builder! Wow! Will you post photos? Ooh I love how you guys pose. I just love the artistic and fluid movements.

Oh about dogs. Boy, do we ever love our Daisy. She is a pittbull mutt and when my son brought her home she was only two weeks old. She was too young but I think that was the best thing we could have done. She was full of fleas. Her mother hardly had any shots. A few months later most of her sisters and brothers were dead from illnesses or were stolen.

You are so right about the tail. OMG! She almost wags her entire body. She is the most lovable dog ever. Quite protective too.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend Jan.

Happy Easter to you too.

Hi Jan! Congratulations on the awards! Well deserved. :) And I love the 6 things about you. I know envision you as independent and athletic with fabulous dogs! I've never had a pit bull, but I love the way they wag their bodies. :) Happy Easter to you - I hope you find a nice tree to climb! ;) xo Pam

Golden Retriever tails can knock you right off your feet, especially when they hit the back of the knee! When my sweetie comes home, the tails hitting the wall of the hall sound like they're going to take out some dry wall!

The pink and green just needs more work done on it!

Jan, your blog is just as nice as you are. I'm always glad to see you post on Yahoo lists. Extra thanks for your note and for following my new-ish blog. Yes, all those cats need a good dog to follow with them. Maybe I should let my St. Bernard have her own blog. Naah, she's too busy keeping the coyotes away. They don't know she's just an overgrown baby. BTW - I love your beaded bead. You are so creative.
